Here’s Another use-case that came to our attention recently: when large companies acquire smaller ones, they often acquire the databases. And these database never get integrated into the larger corporate database. This means we need a mechanism where we can have a unified data model that allows for aggregating data from multiple databases. Splicer supports this feature and is a big selling point for our product suite.
For lift-and-shft, a good example of this is with Private Equity acquisitions. Often part of the acquisition process is to fix broken systems. So the first phase should be to extract the useful model artifacts into a unified schema. This is the “lift” component of “lift-and-shift” process.
